Sometimes our favourite items sell out in the blink of an eye! When an item is sold out it is, unfortunately, impossible to know whether or not we will receive it again. We've added a "notify me" section in some of our product pages that could be coming back in stock. You can leave your email and if the product comes back in stock, we will send you an email to let you know. 
If you have received an availability alert, jump at the chance of ordering your desired item by clicking the link included in the email that was sent to you, which will bring you to the product page. If you can’t finalize the transaction immediately, but still want to purchase the item, contact us via chat box (“Chat with us!”) or email and we can reserve the item for you. Quantities are limited and have a tendency of selling quickly, so we encourage you to keep your eyes peeled ;)

Finding the perfect size is sometimes a challenge when we’re shopping online, but don’t you worry!

We’ve done all the work in order to make finding your size as painless as possible (ensuring your new item fits you like a glove). The measurements for each size of every item are carefully taken to guide you in your search. All you have to do is take your measurements (around your bust, waist, and hips) with the help of a measuring tape and compare them with the measurements of the item you’re interested in (found under the size chart button in the product page). Keep in mind that the waist measurement is often the most important since most of our dresses are form-fitting and have little stretch (unless directed otherwise).

All the important details concerning each item are listed on each product page. The colour of an item can vary depending on the brightness and resolution of your screen or browser. If you have the slightest doubt, please do not hesitate to contact us , especially if you need to respect a specific colour palette for a special occasion :)

The care instructions for each item are listed on the product page under the tab Details and then next to Composition. In order to take proper care of your item, we recommend you follow the instructions that can be found on its’ tag. If “Dry clean only” is listed, it’s because that is the best method to care for it. If the item contains leather, we recommend you refer your questions to a leather specialist.

Nothing could be simpler! Once you’ve added your desired item to your shopping cart, all you have to do is select the “Store Pickup” button found just above the “Checkout” button. You will then have the opportunity to select the boutique of your choice..
Our pickups are ready in 2 hours during our business hours. 

If you wish for someone else to come on your behalf, it is important to communicate with us before by e-mail at ( ). We need a written authorization with the full name of the person who will be picking up your package and your order number. A valid ID with a picture will be asked in the store, otherwise we reserve the right to refuse handing out the order.

Your package won’t be lost! If neither you, nor a friend can pick up your order, we can ship it to the address of your choice once you pay the applicable shipping fees. Just contact us via email at

You have 15 days after the date of delivery of your package to return your online purchase either by dropping it off at one of our stores or by mail at the following address:

Please note that we do not pay for the shipping fees applicable to your return, unless the item has a defect or there was an error in your order or by dropping off your purchase in person at one of our boutiques. Please note that our boutiques are only drop off locations; the refund process will be done through the online store.

You need a return number if you want to return, exchange, or receive an online credit note (which gets you a bonus $5 to spend online). All you have to do to get one is fill out the form and your return number will be emailed to you. Please note that there may be a delay of a couple hours before you receive your return number. It’s also possible it may have been sent to your Junk Mail folder, so stay alert! If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us ! :)
Once you’ve received your return number (via email) you need to write it down on the sticker included in your package. Then stick that sticker on the outside of the box, which will also serve as the return address. If you cannot find the sticker, all you have to do is write the return number on a piece of paper and slide it into your package for us to find. Don’t forget to cover up your own address so it doesn’t get returned to you by accident!
A credit note is a great alternative! Beyond getting an extra $5 added to the total of your credit note for your next purchase, the credit note never expires. You can take all the time in the world to find just the right item! This option is also very useful if you wish to exchange your item for another. Please note that orders already subject to a return cannot benefit a second time from the $5 bonus offered on a credit note.

The exchange option is only possible for the same item in a different size/colour/print OR an another item with the same price. If the item you want is still available, we would be happy to reserve it for you. The shipping of exchange items is only offered in Canada; for exchanges shipped to the United States or internationally, we will contact you so you can pay the shipping costs. Once we have received your return, the exchange item will be sent to you within four days by mail to the address of your original order. You will receive a confirmation email of the delivery including the tracking number supplied by Canada Post for your package. If you would like to do your exchange in-store, just bring in the receipt or your return. Please note you can only exchange for the same item in a different size, colour, or print.
Sale items cannot be reimbursed, but you can exchange them or get a credit note (+$5 bonus). The credit note never expires, so you can use it whenever the mood strikes you. *Please note accessories cannot be returned, exchanged, or refunded
You can return your item in one of our boutiques; please note that the boutiques are a drop-off location only and the reimbursement will be processed at the online store.
The shipping fees applicable to the return of your item are your responsibility. If you live in the Montréal region, you can always drop-off your return in one of our boutiques.
We process the reimbursement of your items as soon as they are received and managed by our Returns Department. We will send you an email informing you of the transaction, which will specify the amount and method of reimbursement. Please note that depending on your financial institution, the reimbursement may take 1-7 business days before appearing in your bank statement.
Once we have received your return, we will hasten to mail your new item free of charge (only in Canada), reserved for you as part of the exchange.

- Maison Garçonne offers a relaxing ambiance full of home decor, cosmetics and candles where you will find the perfect gift or amazing ideas for your own space.

To find the perfect dress for you, we recommend you visit our Boutique 1861 on Boulevard St Laurent, the Boudoir 1861, La Petite Garçonne, and Maison Garçonne all conveniently located on the same block of Boulevard St Laurent between Prince Arthur Street and Pine Avenue.

If you live in the Montréal region, in-store pickup is the quickest and easiest way to receive your online order. On top of avoiding any shipping fees and receiving a cute little reusable bag , you also get the benefit of being able to try the item(s) right away in-store, take advantage of our wonderful stylists’ advice, and easily return or exchange the item(s) if need be! The pickups are ready in max 2hrs during our opening hours.

For your own security, we do not accept any transactions over the phone.

Please note that return policies are not the same in-store and online.

  • Clothing and shoes eligible for a return can be returned within 15 days after the purchase, either for a credit note (valid in our physical stores) or an exchange.
    • We are not responsible for store-issued credits that may be lost, stolen or damaged. Store credits are regarded as cash, and cannot be replaced or reissued.
  • In-store purchases are not refundable.
  • Returns have to be made directly in store.
  • Returns have to be accompanied by original receipt.
  • All tags must still be on the item.
  • The item must be in its original state: it must not have been worn, washed, or damaged, and must contain all pieces (if it applies).
  • The following items are final sale:

    • Accessories (except shoes and veils)
    • Lingerie (except bralettes)
    • Bodysuits

You can easily return or exchange your online purchase(s) in-store, just be sure you receive your return number in advance of coming to visit us in-store. Please note that if you wish to receive a reimbursement, it will made online rather than with the terminal in-store.
The online store has its own inventory, which corresponds only to the items available on our website.  If you want to know if your dream item is available in-store you can click on the find in store button in the product page, and it will let you know if there's quantities in one of our boutique. We always recommend calling the store before visiting us to make sure that the product is actually there.
You can check the availability in-store by clicking on the "Find in store" button that can be found on the product's page under the "add to cart" button.  Don't hesitate to contact us by chat or email so we can help you find a similar item to the one you are looking for. 
We can reserve 2 items maximum for only a 2 hour window as all our items are in high demand and quantities are going fast! All you need to do is call one of our boutiques and speak to one of our in-store stylists directly.
We add new items to our collection in-store every Friday ! Therefore, you can visit our boutiques as many times as you wish and be surprised with new and wonderful finds every time!
All of our boutiques offer a wonderful selection of clothing and accessories. However, Boutique 1861 has the largest selection of items, as well as an exquisite collection of evening gowns and prom dresses. Please don’t hesitate to contact our lovely stylists in-store for more details regarding the availability of an item.

First of all, congratulations! The Boudoir 1861 is always available to the public at all hours of operation, no appointment necessary. However, you can book an appointment of an hour and a half on Saturdays and Sundays at our private salon, reserved for future brides and bridesmaids.

Unfortunately we don’t offer alterations of any kind on-location. Rather, we encourage you to consult with a trusted seamstress or tailor with any and all alteration questions.
