I was in a panic to find a dress in time for prom, and I found Boutique 1861 on a long Reddit thread recommending good dresses, and fell in love with the dresses on the site. A lot of American brands don't have simple, classy, and timeless gowns and this dress was the perfect color and style. It shipped EXTREMELY quick and in such good condition; my dress actually came in before my friend's and she ordered domestically! It fits beautifully and is the perfect weight, airy and breathable, but heavy enough to keep the slit covered when unprompted. LOVE IT!
I absolutely loved the Julia Black Satin Maxi Dress! The satin fabric feels luxurious and smooth against the skin, and the fit in size Medium was perfect. The open back with the criss-cross straps adds a bold, elegant touch, while the high slit brings just the right amount of drama. It’s incredibly flattering and makes you feel confident and beautiful. I wore it to a formal event and got so many compliments. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a show-stopping dress!
I wanted a simple and light wedding dress as we are eloping for a beach wedding. This dress is simple, not much details so you can add more extravagant accessories like a pearl or lace veil and jewelry. The slit goes very high (above hip) but when trying it, I realized it only opens slightly when you take a big step. The material is pretty thin and there is no padding. I like that I don’t need alterations (except for the length, which my grandma can do)! You can adjust a little to your shape with the strings in the back.

A little darker in colour than the picture (more like a wine colour instead of burgundy), but I don't mind. I'm 5'7, 35 bust, and 28 waist and got the large. Length and fit are perfect! The lace-up is great for adjusting the fit as well.
