The experience shopping at the boudoir was remarkable. The best part is leaving with this dress for a steal! I'm thrilled to have found what I was hoping for. You'll see me walking down the aisle in my "dirty dancing" like dress. The flow is so nice because the layers are delicate.
The dress is very beautiful, and I am excited to wear it to my sisters wedding! My only hiccup is the tulle on the chest doesn't cover the chest as it does in the pictures. I am hoping to steam it and hopefully that will fix the issue. Otherwise, it is lovely, and I love the whimsy of it.
Je trouvais qu’elle n’avait pas l’air de grand chose sur les photos. Je l’ai commandée pour l’essayer et j’ai été agréablement surprise. Le tissu est beau, elle est confortable et la coupe est avantageuse.
Dress is as pictured. I purchased the dress for my engagement party and I love the detail with the two layers of tulle. Would have given 5 stars if the skirt lining was not so sheer. I definitely needed to wear a pair of nude shorts underneath. Otherwise the dress looks great on!
Bought this for a wedding and it was a great dress to dance in—comfortable, free-flowing, and makes you feel like a ballerina playing Black Swan. I was worried that the dress would droop but if you've got tight knots going, nothing will fall out. Word of warning: there's no support for the chest at all, so wear something that cinches your girls in if you're worried about side boob, but otherwise, all is good. I typically wear a size M/L for tops and L for bottoms and got an L. It fit just right.
I came from Ottawa to try on another dress for my son’s wedding. It did not fit well and one of the assistant brought over Valerie Black. I stepped out of the fitting room and felt like a dancer again. It fit beautifully, was very light and moved in a beautiful way. I am very pleased with it and can’t wait to wear it on many occasions.
It was my first time at Boutique 1861 and I LOVE IT! The collection is beautiful, fit for every occasion, the boutique is neat and colourful, and the staff were amazing and very helpful!

Stunning dress in a beautiful soft pink, almost a mauve. It’s very flattering and makes me feel like a princess! It did come very wrinkled, but that’s to be expected when a dress is being shipped. Just make sure you have access to a steamer so you can steam out the wrinkles before wearing!

I was looking for my wedding dress and in the process, the sales lady to who was helping me (I never caught her name but she was 10/10 a gem!) pulled out this as an option and I fell for it. It was the perfect length for a more reception party dress while still having a whimsical almost ballerina feel to it.

Wow! Je l'ai commandé en ligne, et j'avais peur que le modèle ne me fasse pas bien! Mais, SURPRISE, la plus belle robe que j'ai eu! La rouge aurait été encore plus belle! J'adore la tulle! Yes! Every in-store pickup comes with a free reusable bag—and it’s lovely.
We don’t offer in-house alterations and aren’t partnered with a seamstress. You’ll need to arrange this yourself, but we’re happy to suggest what to ask for. 😊
We receive new arrivals each season. In addition, we regularly add new dresses in-store—typically every Friday at noon. Sign up to our newsletter to be the first informed of our new limited items :)
Most of our products are carefully selected from our suppliers and produced in limited quantities. Some popular items may return in stock, but availability is not guaranteed.
