Very good experience. The girl who assisted us was professional and knowledgeable in her job. We ended up finding the dress my daughter needed and wanted. The staff in the whole store is friendly and helpful. I would return and recommend to anyone!

Chaque année je retourne à la boutique 1861 pour trouver ma robe de gala des fêtes et je trouve toujours. Chacune des robes est en plusieurs couleurs et il y en a pour tous les goûts et tous les budgets. Le service est aussi excellent! On peut essayer 100 robes et ne jamais sentir qu'on dérange! Je recommande cet endroit sans hésiter.

This dress is gorgeous and well-made! It is stylish and not overly revealing - great for the various weddings I am attending over the next few months. I’m 178cm and the length is perfect on me - no need for alterations, with or without heels. Love that it is made in Montreal as well.

Superbe robe. Tissu confortable et d'allure durable. Peu élastique, tel qu'écrit dans la description, alors bien prendre en considération les mesures inscrites (trop serrés au niveau des hanches dans mon cas).

This dress is just beautiful! I tried it on for friends and the reaction I got was wow! I do have to get the waist taken in a little and have if hemmed (I'm 5'1) but it's literally perfect. Elegant and stylish with the cut outs.

We love this gown so much! My son is wearing it to prom, a dude in a dress! He is so thrilled, it fit perfectly and we've found incredible John Fluevog boots to go with it. Love that this was made by Arti-Gogna - so nice to support Quebec/Canadian designers and shops. THANK YOU 1861!

This dress is amazing! Tried 5-6 dresses at the boutique, but had a huge crush on that one. Elegant yet sexy. The quality of the material and the confection is incredible. Also, it is made by a Montreal designer, so this surely is a plus-value (and it explains why the price is a bit higher than other models in store). It's worth every penny spent on it. Just note that the fabric isn't extensible, so be sure to take your measurements properly if you buy in online without trying it in store. I am 5'5'', 125 lbs, 34B and bought the medium.

Impeccable dress. Made of quality materials. However, I am 5’0 115lbs with a 34 D chest. It curves in all the wrong places. Unless you are a tall super model with long torso…. This dress is not for you. So so sad.

Purchased this dress for my wife who's going to be a bridesmaid. The size and colour were perfectly on point, the dress is made with an excellent fabric, and the seam is definitely done with care! 100% would recommend and buy again.

This dress is more gorgeous than I could have ever imagined! True to size, I ordered a small (i am a 34D and size 2/3 in most stores) and it fit like a glove, hugs in all the right places. I will have to get it altered shorter as I am only 5’3 (as expected), but they leave more than enough length for those of you who are taller. The quality of the material is that of a $400 dress, im shocked this was such a great price.
It also arrived with such cute, careful packaging, and a complimentary protective dress bag and hand-written note. This was my second purchase from 1861 and I will continue to shop here for my occasion dresses as I know I can do so confidently.

After searching everywhere for months to find a dress to wear to a military ball, I stumbled across this website. I immediately fell in love with this dress but was apprehensive because I wouldnt be able to try it on before hand. I was between a small and medium but went with a medium to be safe, knowing it would probably need to be taken in a little. I'm also 5'9" and was afraid the dress would be too short in heels. When the dress arrived I was pleased to see the dress came wrapped up adorably! I rushed to try the dress on and loved it even more in person. As I predicted I needed alterations in a few areas but the dress was still too long for my 3 inch heels. I was extremely overjoyed! I have told all my friends about Boutique 1861. I think I found my go to for dresses!

Beautiful fabric and I love the design and little train at the back. I got the XL to fit my hips but I have a skinnier waste so the midriff doesn't fit quite right on me yet(plan to get it tailored). It is a beautiful dress!
